Crimes of the Week

 

Over the past month, several large pieces of construction equipment had been vandalized or tampered with at locations around the Spencer and West Sterlington areas.  Ignition keys for some of this equipment have been taken by the suspects.       Farmerville, La.

 

Sometime during the late evening hours to Thursday, 6-24-2010 or early morning hours of Friday, 6-25-2010, a 2000, white Century Freightliner was stolen from DAS Transport in Farmerville, La.   DAS is located across from Tuckers Steel on La. Hwy. 15 just north of the Farmerville City Limits. 

 

We will pay a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest of  persons responsible for this crime and recovery of the truck. If you have any information concerning this crime or location of the truck.

Truxno, La.

  On 6-3-2010, a 2001 John Deere Tractor Model 5510 was stolen from the Truxno, La. area.  Investigators learned that the tractor was later sold in the Strong, Ar. area.

 

We will pay a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest of  persons responsible for this crime and recovery of the tractor. If you have any information concerning this crime or location of the tractor

Junction City, La.

 

During the early morning hours of Wednesday, 6-23-2010, unknown suspects attempted to burglarize a residence on South Pine St. in Junction City, La.  The suspects broke out a window on the south side of the house and attempted to gain entry.  The suspects left a Mizuno ball bat and a golf club at the scene.  If anyone has information about this crime contact Crime Stoppers of Union Parish Ph. #368-9679

Marion, La.

Crime Stoppers of Union Parish During the late evening hours of
5-18-2010, suspects forced entry into a side door of the Corner Store in
Marion, La. Suspects took alcohol and cigarettes.

Crime Stoppers of Union Parish The morning of 5-31-2010, a burglary of a
residence was reported on Kennedy St. in Marion, La. Sometime during the
weekend, suspects forced entry through a back door of the residence and took
a gaming console and games.

Arson

On Monday May 10, 2010, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Farmerville Police Dept. received a report of a mobile home fire at 720 White St. in Farmerville, La.  The Farmerville P.D. and Fire Dept. arrived on the scene to discover that the fire had been intentionally started.  Unknown suspects had poured a large amount of gasoline around the mobile home.  A large amount of this gasoline was concentrated in front of both exits of the mobile home.  One side of the mobile home was burning, but the other side failed to ignite.  At the time of the fire, the residence was occupied by five adults and two infants.  All the occupants were able to escape from the fire without injury.

Bridges Gro. Store Burglarized

During the early morning hours of Saturday, 4-17-2010, two un-identified person(s) burglarized Bridges Gro. Store,

which is located about 5 miles south of Spearsville, La.  

A large black safe was taken from the store’s office. If you have any information concerning this crime call Crime Stoppers of Union Parish at Ph. # 368-9679

 The photographs above are substations owned and operated by Claiborne Electric Co. in and around Farmerville, La. 

The substation pictured on the left is located near the National Guard Armory on Rodeo Dr.  On 2-10-2010,

this substation was vandalized and a large amount of copper wiring was stolen.  

The substation pictured on the right is location on Hudson Rd.  On 3-31-2010, this substation was also vandalized and a large amount of copper wiring was stolen.

These crimes are being investigated by the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Farmerville Police Dept.

During the earlier morning hours of March 26, 2010 this person burglarized the Recycling Center at the intersection of La. Hwy 15 and Zion Hill Church Rd. north of Farmerville, La.    A large amount of copper wire and some coins were taken.  If anyone can identify this person or has information concerning this crime,
